Seedance Pricing: Compare Providers and Cost per Video
Seedance pricing depends on the provider, the exact model and the video you request. A low advertised price per second may refer to 480p, a cheaper Fast or Mini model, or subscription credits with no fixed cash value. To make the comparison useful, we have calculated the cost of matching Seedance 2.0 videos rather than comparing headline plan prices.
Want to make a clip without configuring an API? Open Seedance 2.0 in DIY AI Studio, enter your prompt and check the credit quote before generating. Studio supports text-to-video and image-to-video, with native audio and 720p or 1080p.
Seedance 2.0 cost per video: matched provider comparison
For these estimates, every clip is Seedance 2.0 Standard, 16:9, text-to-video, native audio enabled, with no reference images, audio files or input videos. Figures are in US dollars unless marked as Studio credits. They exclude taxes, promotional credits and the cost of unsuccessful creative attempts.
| Provider and access route | 5 sec, 720p | 10 sec, 720p | 5 sec, 1080p |
|---|---|---|---|
BytePlus ModelArk API – dreamina-seedance-2-0-260128 | ~$0.76 | ~$1.51 | ~$1.87 |
| Segmind API – Seedance 2.0 Standard | ~$0.76 | ~$1.51 | ~$1.88 |
Atlas Cloud API – bytedance/seedance-2.0/text-to-video | ~$0.97 | ~$1.94 | ~$2.18 |
WaveSpeed API – bytedance/seedance-2.0/text-to-video | $1.20 | $2.40 | $3.00 |
DIY AI Studio – seedance_standard | 26 credits | 51 credits | 63 credits |
How to read this: BytePlus and Segmind are token-based calculations at their published rates. WaveSpeed uses its published Standard endpoint rates, before any live promotion. Atlas Cloud uses indicative discounted per-resolution rates, not a logged-in account quote; its final token charge can differ. The Studio figures are actual quotes returned by its pricing service on 27 October 2026, not charges from completed renders. None of these figures claims we generated or quality-tested the same clip on every provider.
The underlying model versions matter more than a price badge. BytePlus lists Seedance 2.0 Standard, Fast and Mini separately. Fast and Mini can make cheaper 720p clips, but they do not offer the same 1080p option as Standard. Seedance 2.5 is another version entirely. BytePlus explains its token rates, output examples, and success-only charging in the official ModelArk pricing documentation.
How to use Seedance in DIY AI Studio
- Open the model directly. Use the Seedance link above, sign in or review the introductory Studio offer, and confirm that Seedance 2.0 is selected.
- Choose Text to Video or Image to Video. Start with text for a new scene. If you already have a product photograph or storyboard frame, upload that image instead. The image must meet the format and dimension limits shown in Studio.
- Describe the action and sound. For example: “A ceramic coffee cup on a wooden counter; steam moves gently as the camera pushes in; morning window light; quiet café ambience; no titles or logos.” Keep the camera instruction separate from the subject description.
- Set the output. Pick 16:9 for a landscape clip or 9:16 for a vertical one, then choose 5 or 10 seconds and 720p or 1080p. Studio exposes the combinations currently supported by its Seedance integration.
- Read the credit quote before submitting. As checked for 16:9 text-to-video, 5 seconds at 720p required 26 credits. Increasing it to 10 seconds required 51 credits; 5 seconds at 1080p required 63. Check your own live quote, as rates can change.
- Generate, review and keep the useful take. Inspect motion, continuity, sound and any unexpected text before downloading or saving your result. A technically successful render may still need another attempt.
For image-to-video, don’t assume the text-only quote will transfer unchanged. Your selected image, operation and available settings determine the price displayed in the workspace.
What 26 Studio credits actually cost
DIY AI Studio’s published introductory offer is $0.99 for seven days with 50 credits, followed by $9.99 per month with 100 credits unless cancelled. The regular subscription therefore works out to 9.99 cents per credit if you use the full monthly allowance. At that effective rate, the three Studio quotes above represent roughly $2.60, $5.09 and $6.29 of the monthly allowance respectively.
Those are allocated subscription costs, not extra pay-as-you-go charges. A new member’s 50-credit introductory allowance can cover one 26-credit 5-second 720p generation, leaving 24 credits. It cannot cover a 51-credit 10-second 720p job on its own. Check unused credits, top-ups, and renewal arrangements against the terms shown on your account before purchasing. Do not divide the $0.99 introduction price by 50 and advertise the result as Seedance’s permanent price.
Why some cheaper Seedance prices are not comparable
Atlas Cloud’s advertised “from $0.09 per second” Seedance 2.0 offer is a lower-resolution entry point. Its indicative discounted 720p rate is around $0.1935 per second, which produces the $0.97 five-second estimate above. WaveSpeed’s listed 720p Standard rate is $0.24 per second, whereas its Fast route has a different rate. Comparing Atlas’s cheapest 480p badge with WaveSpeed’s 720p Standard rate would manufacture a price advantage.
The same caution applies to Seedance2Video.io and LaoZhang. Seedance2Video.io sells subscription credits and one-time packs and exposes model IDs such as seedance-2.0-pro, seedance-2.0-fast and seedance-2.0-mini. Its API uses the same changing credit calculation as its web editor. For example, it publishes an eight-second 720p Fast job with image/audio references for 464 credits. That is a different input and model configuration, so it cannot be inserted into the text-only Standard table as a cash figure. LaoZhang provides a developer relay rather than a comparable consumer subscription; obtain a request-specific quote and confirm the backend version before committing.
For a genuine subscription comparison, write down the cash paid up front, credits released per billing period, credits consumed by your precise clip, expiry or rollover rules, and cancellation date. A yearly plan advertised as a low monthly equivalent still commits you to a yearly payment. A $10 API top-up may be easier to control than a large annual allowance, even if its marginal cost per clip is slightly higher.
Reference inputs change the bill even when the output stays five seconds
The comparison table deliberately uses no reference media. A still image often sits in the same pricing category as text input, but reference video is more complicated. On BytePlus, Seedance 2.0 charges less per million tokens when input video is present, but the billable token calculation includes both the input video duration and the generated output. Its published 720p examples put a five-second output with reference video at roughly $0.84 to $1.86, depending on how much source video is supplied. That can exceed the $0.76 text-only estimate despite the lower token rate.
Before accepting an attractive video-to-video rate, check whether the provider rounds input lengths, imposes a minimum billable duration or counts each reference clip. Also keep audio enabled consistently when comparing offers. On the Seedance 2.0 routes considered here, native audio is included in the published base calculation; don’t assume that rule extends to older Seedance 1.5 plans or every reseller’s credit system.

Failed generations, refunds and the cost of a usable result
Published rate cards measure a submitted job, not the cost of producing a clip you would actually publish. BytePlus says failed generations, including content-moderation failures, are not charged. WaveSpeed documents automatic reversals for eligible failed requests and system errors, but a browser or API timeout is not proof of failure: the job may continue and be billable. Its task ID and completed status are essential for resolving a disputed charge. Seedance2Video.io says API failures use the web application’s existing credit-refund mechanism. Do not assume another provider follows those rules without checking.
Creators repeatedly report a frustrating combination of moderation changes, queued jobs and credits tied up on reseller platforms. Some failures eventually refund; others require support or leave a prepaid balance difficult to use. Treat refund reliability and withdrawal or expiry restrictions as purchasing criteria, not footnotes. Keep the task identifier, request settings, status and before-and-after credit balance whenever a job fails.
There’s also the creative retry budget. If a five-second 720p shot needs four successful, billable attempts before one take is usable, the estimated BytePlus generation spend is about $3.04 rather than $0.76; WaveSpeed’s published list-rate equivalent is $4.80 rather than $1.20. Four attempts is an example, not a measured Seedance rejection rate. Track accepted clips, not just jobs submitted.
Which Seedance buying route makes sense?
For a creator making a handful of clips: start in DIY AI Studio, where you can select Seedance 2.0 and see an exact credit requirement before the request. It avoids API integration work, although a Studio credit is not priced like a direct BytePlus token.
For an application or repeatable production pipeline: benchmark BytePlus and Segmind first on matched Standard settings, then compare Atlas Cloud and WaveSpeed using their current request calculators. Include task logging, concurrency limits and refunds in the decision. An API route that costs more per second can still be preferable if it fits an existing workflow or reduces operational work.
For a prepaid reseller subscription: buy only after calculating how many specific Standard clips the allowance buys and whether those credits will still be usable next month. Check model names closely: Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 2.0 Mini and Seedance 2.5 are not interchangeable products.
To compare Seedance with other models rather than other payment routes, use our AI video generator pricing guide or the image-to-video generator comparison. For the first paid Seedance experiment, keep the clip short, use 720p and confirm the quote in Studio before generating.
